Originally established in 1977 by Harry Petkau as Kelbrook Custom Homes Ltd (joint venture with Enns and Quiring Construction), Kelbrook stood for quality, integrity, innovation, and the personal touch. We grew up in this culture not only shaped and trained by our father, but mentored by the extended family of legendary custom home builders; Arnold Enns and Otto Quiring. We consider it a great honor to be part of the legacy of these amazing men.
Composition, whether it be in music, photography, writing, or structure, can be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art. As our homes and working environments once again become more sensitive to artistic realities and timeless creativity, the importance of composition continually elevates and evolves. Our role is that of composers - knowledgeable of the entire scope of the piece of art from its conceiving thought to its completion.
It is a huge responsibility and privilege to be chosen as your builder - not just because of what we are commissioned to produce, but also because you are inviting us into your lives for significant periods of time. There isn't a contractor, subcontractor, or employee who enters the process who we wouldn't have working on our own homes, and integrating with our families. We take this seriously... and we promise will have an unfair amount of fun with you during the process. It wouldn't be right if it were any other way.

Each year, the Canadian Home Builders Association brings attention to projects which they feel are representations of excellence in quality, innovation, design, and environmental responsibility. In 2016, we were honoured and humbled to receive recognition as a finalist in four categories related to the stunning Redpath renovation - taking top honours for the ensuite portion of the renovation. We share these awards with the incredibly talented and creative team of professionals who truly came together to form a work of art. Collaborative planning for one of the most design-heavy renovations we've ever undertaken began in 2015, and resulted in one Silver and two Gold Tommie Awards for 2018! Every detail of this project was intended to have subtle intricacies blended with bold statements, in step with the owner's passion for entertaining and intriguing conversation. Many hands and minds contributed - most notably the creative genius of Chrystal Redpath, Trent Breitkreutz, and owner Dr. Sarah Robbins. Finalist in four categories for the 2019 Okanagan Housing Awards for the stunning Greenwood Residence, including Home of the year. Glasses up! - Kelbrook receives Gold for the Primary Suite Design! A well-deserved tip of the hat to James Haasdyk of Oasis Design for the architectural design of this lakefront masterpiece. Check out the pics here! This home was a 'design-build' in every way, with all aspects of architectural, interior, and outdoor living design by Kelbrook's Grant Petkau. After a long Covid-related wait, we're thrilled to announce: Kelbrook receives GOLD for Best Outdoor Living Space, Best Interior Design (new home under 3000sf), and BEST NEW HOME in the 1.5 - 2m Category! We're unbelievably honoured to have 'State of Mind' recognized in the 2022 Georgie Awards as a finalist in the 1.5 - 2m category, and also for "Best outdoor living space". The Georgie Awards recognizes the best of the best among the builders of British Columbia - and Kelbrook WINS for BEST NEW HOME in the 1.5 - 2m Category!! We're so proud of all of the incredibly talented trades for their hard work and attention to detail on this masterpiece, and believing in the vision!
